Refunds and download help
If something isn’t right.
Contact The House of Lit with your book title, purchase email and Stripe purchase reference. Never send card numbers or bank details.
Missing or damaged downloads
If a file is unavailable, corrupt or fails to match its description, we will help restore access or provide a corrected file. Where the problem cannot be remedied, we will provide an appropriate refund or price reduction in line with your statutory rights.
Changed your mind?
You may have a statutory right to cancel before digital supply begins. When you expressly request immediate supply and acknowledge the consequences, that ordinary cancellation right ends once the ebook download begins, where the legal conditions are satisfied. After that point, we do not offer an automatic change-of-mind refund. We may offer a goodwill refund at our discretion. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.
How to request a refund
You can contact us through the contact form or the published business contact details. A purchase reference helps us locate your order, but a particular form, reason or reference is not required to exercise a valid statutory cancellation right. We will acknowledge valid cancellation requests and arrange any refund due within the applicable legal deadline, using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed. Statutory refunds are not reduced by our payment-processing fees.
Authors and refunded sales
Refunded and disputed sales do not count towards readership price tiers. Royalties already transferred for a refunded or disputed transaction may be reversed. Author assessment payment information is covered in the author terms.
